Some credentials are earned in classrooms. Aaron Dunigan's most powerful credential was earned somewhere else entirely. Aaron knows the reentry journey not from the outside looking in, but from the inside looking forward. He served 4.5 years in prison, earned his GED within those walls, and made a decision that would define everything that came after. He chose to Ascend! What followed is a testament to what becomes possible when preparation meets purpose.
Today, Aaron holds a bachelor's degree in Strategic Leadership, carries ten years of coaching and mentoring experience, and brings the dual certification of a Human Resources Professional and a certified Getting Ahead Facilitator to every room he enters. He is not simply trained to guide this work. He is called to it. As the founder and host of Hats, Hoodies & Handshakes, Aaron has built a platform that meets people exactly where they are, using his own story to reframe setbacks as setups and pain as the raw material of purpose. His voice carries the kind of authority that no textbook can manufacture and no resume can fully capture. He has been where the people in that room have been. And he has built something beautiful on the other side of it.
Together with his wife, Aaron operates a thriving counseling practice rooted in service to the community they love. When Aaron Dunigan walks into a room of investigators, they don't just see a facilitator. They see proof.
